Our son’s first birthday ๐Ÿฅณ

Image
The theme along with the decorations are from my baby shower that I cancelled last year due to the pandemic…which is kind of crazy cause I had my baby the day that was supposed to be my baby shower lol I got the idea from a teddy bear (the one in the red polo shirt) that my husband had since he was a kid…and then a lot of the decorations were bought from Amazon, my mother made a few other decorations and the cake was custom made ๐Ÿ™‚  Now time to plan the second birthday ๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ˜œ

Baby’s favorite books ๐Ÿ˜Š

Image
Reading to your baby is so beneficial, it helps them develop language faster, and best of all they love to hear your voice ๐Ÿ˜Š  I love reading books to my son. He sits down and listens to me read them out loud while he looks at the pages. Eventually they will understand the story and they will even finish the sentences for you ๐Ÿ˜Š  Try to include reading a book in your baby’s bedtime routine...or at least try to read to them once a day. These are my son’s favorite books: Goodnight Moon I Will Love You Forever/ Te Amare Por Siempre Love from Peter Rabbit Stay This Way Forever Disclaimer: As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases Hope this post has motivated you to read to your baby.  Let me know which books you read to your baby(ies) in the comments below ๐Ÿ™‚

Postpartum Must Haves

Giving birth is an incredible, wonderful thing...but there is no denying that it can also be extremely painful. Even if you had an epidural, once it wears off...you will feel pain ๐Ÿ˜ฃ๐Ÿ˜– Luckily, most hospitals will provide all the essentials for your postpartum care, and you can take them home with you. Believe me you’ll be so grateful.  I brought home all the mesh underwear they provided. They were the most comfortable underwear I have ever wore. I also brought home the tucks pads, the peri bottle and the spray. However, eventually these items will run out (except for the peri bottle) but I found the items and was able to order them ๐Ÿ˜Œ  I suggest you order them ahead of time so they’re ready for you at home when you return from the hospital. These are the items that worked for me: Disclaimer: As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.  Dermoplast Pain & Itch Spray This helped me so much, especially the first time you pee after giving birth. Daily routine of a 7 month old baby and tips on how to make a routine.

Image
My son is 7 months and growing up so fast. He is finally loving to eat purรฉed foods, and he is very active so his schedule has gotten fuller. We have created a routine for him that is not completely set but we try to keep it consistent as best as we can. We put him to bed at 10pm, sometimes a little later but not past 10:30 pm and he wakes up around 7:45-8 am. He does not eat in the middle of the night (yay more sleep for us! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ) After his first feeding he likes to go back to sleep, I guess he is not a morning person lol He came out like his mommy ๐Ÿ˜› I’m no longer breastfeeding him..but I am still pumping twice a day ( morning and night time) So far, his routine goes like this: 7:45 am: first feeding and goes back to sleep until 10:45 ish 10:45 or 11 am: cereal for breakfast and second bottle ๐Ÿฅฃ ๐Ÿผ 12 pm: playtime ๐Ÿงธ 1 pm: nap time until 2:30ish ๐Ÿ˜ด 3 pm: lunch (vegetables) and third bottle ๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿผ 3:45 pm: playtime ๐Ÿงธ  5 pm: nap time until 7 ish ๐Ÿ˜ด  7 or 7:30 pm: bot...

I gave birth in the middle of a pandemic

Image
My due date was actually on my birthday, in May...but as with almost all pregnancy due dates, it rarely happens on that exact date.... Instead I was induced and gave birth on the day that would have been my baby shower, and in the middle of a pandemic. Get ready for a long read: It was the end of March 2020, I had just been laid off from work because of the pandemic, and we were worried, but at the same time somewhat relieved that I didn’t have to commute to work and risk contracting COVID. That same week, my husband was not feeling well, he had a strong headache, a mild fever, and a slight cough but no breathing problems thank goodness. He went to the ER to see if they would test him because he suspected it might be COVID. He wanted to get tested mostly because of me, since I was about 8 months pregnant.  Unfortunately, they did not test him because back then, they would not test you unless you were not able to breathe or you had an extremely high fever, because of the lack of tes...
